MoonPay executive allegedly transferred $250,000 to Nigerian scammers
Odaily News The latest documents from the U.S. Department of Justice show that Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of the crypto payment company MoonPay, and Mouna Ammari Siala, CFO, may have become victims of a fraud case, transferring more than $250,000 USDT to a Nigerian scammer. The scammer impersonated Steve Witkoff, co-chairman of the Trump Inaugural Committee, and used a carefully designed fraudulent email address (replacing the capital letter I with the lowercase letter l) to commit fraud. The Department of Justice documents show that the wallet involved has been confirmed to be registered under the name of Ehiremen Aigbokhan in Lagos, Nigeria, and Tether has currently frozen approximately $40,000 USDT. As of press time, MoonPay has not responded to this incident. (The Block)
